Demystifying - Equations with brackets

Author note — to cover

Solve equations with brackets, e.g. 3(x − 2) = 15, by expanding first or by dividing both sides when the right-hand side divides cleanly; include brackets on both sides like 2(x + 1) = 3(x − 4). Sign slips over a subtracted bracket link back to the notation topic. Both tiers. (A17)
