Author note — to cover
- Fluency — multi-step BIDMAS with indices, brackets and fraction bars (5 questions).
- Reordering — single-choice questions picking which regrouping of a calculation is valid and mental, alternated with separate numeric questions evaluating a regrouped calculation; one answer per question (4 questions).
- Checking — choosing the inverse calculation that checks a given result, then a final expression where left-to-right working gives a plausible wrong answer (4 questions).
