Demystifying - The danger of extrapolation

Drills

Why extending the line beyond the plotted data gives unsupported estimates.

Author note — to cover

Explain the danger of extrapolating: extending a line of best fit beyond the plotted data assumes the trend continues, which the evidence cannot support. Question type: say why a specific prediction is unreliable, including one physically absurd case such as height continuing to grow with age. Estimates inside the range are the sibling page. Both tiers. (S6)
