  • Linear fluency — equations with brackets, fractions and unknowns on both sides, solutions arranged to come out as integers or exact decimals (4 questions).
  • Factorising — quadratics solved after any rearrangement, answered as single choices naming both roots, with x² = 5x and its lost root x = 0 among them (4 questions).
  • Higher methods — completing the square and the formula on quadratics with surd answers, chosen from exact forms rather than typed (4 questions).
