Drills
Evaluating functions, inverse functions and composite functions at given values from formal notation.
Author note — to cover (Higher)
- Fluency — evaluating f(3), f(−2) and 2f(1) from a given linear or quadratic rule, answers typed as numbers (4 questions).
- Composites — evaluating fg(2) and gf(2) from two given rules, where applying the functions in the wrong order changes the answer (4 questions).
- Inverses — choosing f⁻¹(x) as a single choice, then evaluating it at a value, with 1/f(x) offered as the classic wrong reading (4 questions).
